What is the Grossest Thing your Kids Have Tried?

When I was little, my family would call my sister and I the "Queens of Gross." We thought everything was gross and now that we have kids of our own, I have kids that test my ever so popular "Queen of Gross" name.

Yesterday, I went with a friend to the local jumping place with the kids. Of course the trampolines get old after a bit and the kids tend to wander into places they shouldn't go. Maya decided to try the bathroom out. I followed her in there not seconds after to find she had just taken the lovely green tampon applicator out of the nasty toilet trash. Yes..in the mouth it went. GROSS. Okay, so I made this big scream and pretty much barfed in my mouth and am still barfing right now, flicked the NASTY green lollipop tampon applicator on the floor and washed her mouth out until she squirmed out of my arms screaming.

I guess things are working as normal today with her but that image is not leaving my mind. What was the GROSSEST thing that your kids have sampled?

"Gross" doesn't even begin to describe the queasiness I felt while reading your story, Susan. Maya takes the cake, that's for sure, and is one of the reasons I'm a Nazi when it comes to Sadie and Maddie not touching anything in public bathrooms.

My kids never really went through the oral stage, you might say. They didn't tend to put things in their mouths. The only thing I remember was Ethan trying construction glue when he was about Maya's age. I freaked out and called Poison Control. They said he'd be find. Whew!! When I think about it, a dirty tampon applicator is about the nastiest thing anyone could ever put in their mouth! Blech!!

That is disgusting! but I will say Jake has sampled a few of mine in the trash and i just about died when I saw him chewing on it, gross, gross, gross. But at least I knew it was mine and not some strangers, so Myia still wins!

With that image in my mind, I cannot think of anything more disgusting, but Laney played with the cat litter today. Inevitable!

Yuck...I think I just vomited in my mouth! :-( One of my kids when he was Maya's age use to eat the toothpaste and I had to call the Poison Control.(Not just once but twice) So I think you win!

LOL! oh man that is gross! Well I can't relate because I don't have kids but does my dog Spanky count? He has done some really gross things...for example eating things out of our bathroom trash can, humping my leg etc.

hope that makes you feel better:)

My 14 month old just picked up a tampon applicator- plastic "pearl" from tampax today- it was lying next to the garbage dump, in the parking lot of my appartment building...I am still freaked out!

Ah, poison control... I am a neat freak when I'm making chicken, but somehow a little piece got away and dried on the floor, and baby Parker picked it up and ate it. I called 1-800-222-1222 pretty quickly, but they said it was basically like jerky so he'd be okay. Stewart ate diaper creme. Paige went through a phase of digging in the kitchen trash for treasures. YIKES! Kids are scary!
