This Looks Scary

Here's a cute one! Maya looks a little nervous. I would be too.

Smooth Selling on eBay

So I think I'm an eBayer now. I sold my first headband on eBay about 2 weeks ago and have had so much fun with it. Our house should be cleaned up in no time. Since my first sale, we had the sad news of the chocolate fountain went last week and about 10 more headbands and now our camera. If you have anything you need sold, I can sell it for you. I have found some tricks to do or not to do to get it sold. After all, Matt is getting kinda annoyed because everyday I ask what we can sell. Happy eBaying!

Tried and True

Okay, so Lindsey gave me a cookbook from her ward of tried and true recipes and I'm a big fan of all those Morman home cookin recipes so I thought I would share the alfredo sauce one I made the other night. This is NOT low-fat though but mighty tasty!

1 pt. heavy cream
1 stick of butter
2 Tbsp. cream cheese
1/2 cup to 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder

Mix in a sauce pan for about 15-20 minutes on med-low heat. Do not let burn!

Splurging

Well Regina tagged me on this splurge thing and this might be kinda hard because I splurge on just about everything. I'm my mother's girl that way.

10 Things I Splurge on

1. My kids clothes. It is way too fun to spend money on them and all the cute clothes out there always want to jump into my cart.
2. Water bill. Sounds weird. I'm sure it could be cheaper but I love really green grass!
3. Going out the eat. I always enjoy a good place to eat without my kids!
4. Jeans. They are hard to come by when you are tall, so no matter the price tag , buy them.
5. Bras. Again hard to find a round boobed bra...they think everyone has pointy ones.
6. Meat. It has to be very well trimmed. No bones, or fat, so I do very little work to prepare it.
7. Home and yard decos. I'm with Regina on that, gotta be the good house wife and have a cute house and yard... right?
8. My bed. I don't settle for anything else. I wish they made something bigger then a King though. My bed is the best!
9. My hair and nails. Every chance I get, I love to get them done.
10. Vacations. I try not to look at the bank account when planning a trip. I just go and pay as I go!

10 Things I don't splurge on(conserve)

1. Clothes for me. I usually look for deals and even then, I'm very cheap!
2. Internet. Matt thinks it has to be the fastest...whatever works for me. The cheaper the bill the better. Just none of this dial up stuff.
3. Cleaning supplies. I'm with Regina. The cheap ones work for me.
4. Cell phones. I don't need the new iphone or a camera phone. I wouldn't know how to work it either. Just give me one that works!
5. Soda. It's not my favorite so if you took it away from me, that's cool.
6. Shampoos and conditioners. I have my favorite but it's no salon stuff. They got rid of my very favorite(finesse.) Blahhh
7. Computer stuff. Matt thinks we need the most memory, the latest computer with the latest software. I'm fine with one that works.
8. Weed wacker. My $25 purchase has done the job great.
9. Manners. I've never been one to have Matt open my door for me. Can't tell you why but it makes me feel uncomfortable.
10. Milk. I love any kind...even the cheap stuff...just don't give it to me warm.

Thanks Regina for tagging me!

A Mow well done

Well Matt finally mowed our new grass yesterday. It was laid about 2 1/2 weeks ago and 2 1/2 hours later and 7 garbage bags later, the job was done. Its looks good now that it's done but wow it was about a foot long before Matt got started. I love seeing grass instead of dirt but there is still plenty to do. The fun or should I say work never ends.

Lightening Ridge, AZ in May 2007

Family picture on my dad's tractor in Arizona. That's his seventh baby that just arrived about a year ago.

Bath time EVERY night with Haley's cousins. The water was brown by the time bath time was done.

Matt got to make many laps around the property with the kids in this yellow cart.

We roasted a lot of marshmallows...well maybe burned a lot of marshmallows. The smore thing doesn't always happen when there is a whole bag of marshmallows to roast or burn because that's the best part.

A Must Have

I was reading a report from another blog on the Oreo Cakesters. They were giving them a thumbs up and I would have to agree. I may be kind of partial because I work for the company that makes them but I have bought them for the 3rd week in a row. I don't know if anyone has ever had the homemade oreos, but these are pretty close to being just as good. The only bad thing...you get 6, 2pack cakesters in each box for roughly $3. Hats off to Nabisco for producing another awesome product.

6 Years Later

Ok, so I married this boy 6 years ago tomorrow...isn't he cute! 6 years later he has teeth and the change purse has been replaced by other interesting things. Some things don't change but one things for sure, I still love him just how he is. Happy Anniversary!

Haley's SECRET

This is what I caught Haley doing yesterday

Come to find out her dad has taught her how to find mommy's deodorant and how to use it!
Thanks dad!

Downside of Living in Springville

Well, I ventured out last night out of my Springville home because my cabin fever was kicking in. I tried to visit the local Arby's but the drive up wasn't working, then to Wendy's where the line was 6 cars long and wasn't moving very fast. Because I had Maya screaming in the back along with Haley singing her song to out do Maya, we left the 2nd drive-thru. Then to Burger King where there was only 2 cars. I tried to speak loud enough that the gal could hear me but what I got was, "what was that?" Come to find out the shake machine wasn't working to top it all off. That's when Haley started in. Well I guess all I have to say is, Springville needs more drive-thru places that can accommodate the population that is here now. And I guess I'll cook next time. I probably could have saved some time and gas money. Am I the only one having these problems?

Homemade Oreo Cookies

This is one of my favorites and it's easy too!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1 devils food cake mix

Cream cheese frosting

Mix all ingredients together. Plop small(about the size of a big gum ball you get out of the vending machine)balls of batter on a ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 6-8 minutes. Cool completely. Frost bottom of one cookie connect with another bottom of cookie to create a homemade oreo.

Thanks Mom

Well I can't say it enough...thanks mom. Everytime I take my two kids out somewhere I am amazed at how my mother did it. I have 2, well she had 6. My friends and I took our kids to Thanksgiving Point to the Children's Gardens today. We planned to to be there first thing in the morning, which first of all, is not always easy running them out of the house. When we got there, it took about 10 minutes to unload EVERYTHING. Where do you start? Well the 20 pound stroller that takes up the entire trunk came first, then the diaper backpack, then the swim clothes, then the food bag, oh and the cooler bag, then the blanket and towels, purse, oh and "Haley, can you put your shoes on again" for the 10th time in these same 10 minutes. Then you have everything, but don't forget the kids. Did you buckle them in, do you have them in the sun, are they happy... Then when you're done with your 2 hour expedition, did you eat something, hows the diaper situation, did I get everything and again, "Haley are your shoes on?" The 20 pound stroller gets put back in the trunk and we are off as your mind goes in circles thinking, "What did I miss." What a joy it has been being a mother and I wouldn't change it for anything but I have learned to appreciate my own mother a whole lot more. Thanks mom for everything!

Whats Been Happening

1 Month old

Where did she get that hair?
"Hold her mommy," is what I hear a lot
At The Children's Gardens at Thanksgiving Point with all of Haley's friends(o.k. so this is the best we could get of at least most of them looking)

Potty Training 101

Well this is what I have been dreading about having kids for a long time. Getting the pee pee in the potty. Who knew it was this challenging? Haley is doing all the motions of getting trained. We've sat for as much as a half hour on the toilet and nothing but then 20 minutes later she tells me to change her diaper. You feel like your failing but from the advice from others who have potty trained, they say its up to the child when they want to get trained. Hmmmm....so how long will it be? I guess we will keep sitting and singing on the toilet, watching our Elmo potty training video, and buying and bribing with potty treats and Dora underwear. Any advice, send it my way!

Finally, a whole new adventure

OUR HOME SCREAMS PINK

Thought now is as good a time as any. I had my second princess (a little sappy) come into the world last month and thought it was a perfect time to post some pictures of her on my blog. Maya Claire Andersen was born at 6:24 on July 10th, 2007 weighing in at 8 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long(my girls grow in
length after they come out). With the 2nd has come different challenges but I have found the challenges rewarding already. As Matt says, "I'm outnumbered 3 to 1 now," and the heat is on for #3(if that time ever comes). The house is filled with pink as Haley continues to always want,"the pink one." Even when we go to ride the ponies at Thanksgiving Point, she says she wants to ride "the pink one." Haley continues to make me laugh and cry as I still try to adjust to the many fits that continue to come from being 2. I hope all of you can find some joy as you take on new adventures in your lives.
