FHE Treats

I don't know about you guys but growing up for FHE, treats were more times then not, Rice Crispy Treats. Well, over the years I have had many variations of these yummy treats. My grandma makes some really yummy ones with butterscotch and chocolate on the top. Well yesterday I looked for something else. I found this recipe and it was yummy and easy. The best part, you don't have to hunt in the back of your pantry for some crusty marshmallows.

Have you had any fun variations of these yummy treats you'd like to share?

Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Treats

1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup smooth peanut butter
5-6 cups rice crispy

Heat sugar and corn syrup over low heat on stove top until combined. Add peanut butter and bring to boil. Let boil for 1 minute and remove from heat and add rice crispies. Put in a greased 9x13 pan. I put chocolate chips on top to add a few more calories. Enjoy!!!

Thanks, Susan. You're always great for a good recipe. I used to enjoy Grandma's rice crispy treats with the milk chocolate butterscotch topping! FHE is usually whatever we have in the house. There's always a snack of some kind or other around. Tonight? Peanut butter M&M's! It doesn't get any easier than that.

Rice Crispy treats are one of my favorite things to eat--and my favorite way to have them is just plain, but this peanut butter version sounds really good. I'm almost afraid to try it because I might like them too much!

I just remembered a recipe my mom made once a million years ago. It was peanut butter Flinstones cereal treats. So it was a peanut butter fruit flavored crispy treat. I loved them. Interesting, huh?
